Account and sign in

Sign in with either your username or email. If you have forgotten your password, choose “Forgot password?” on the sign in screen and use the single use link sent to your account email. The link expires after one hour. If you no longer control that inbox, email us from an address where we can reply and explain the situation.

Email verification

New accounts need the six digit code sent by email. It expires after 10 minutes and can be used once. Check spam and wait 60 seconds before requesting another code; a new code invalidates the old one. If the message still does not arrive, tell us your signup email and the approximate time of your request. Changing your account email uses a verification link to the new address.

Recommendations and catalogue

Rate a few titles you know, then adjust your taste profile, streaming services and Safe ↔ Wildcard setting. “Already seen,” “Not interested” and “Never recommend this again” affect future picks. Free accounts have five personal picks per day; Premium accounts have unlimited personal picks. If REVEL cannot find a suitable title, tell us the error shown and a few examples of what you expected. Availability and provider data can change by country and may be cached.

Premium and payments

REVEL Premium is £9.99 as a One Time Payment, with no free trial, subscription or recurring billing. Stripe handles Checkout. Access begins after confirmed payment; we email a purchase confirmation you can keep. If Checkout completed but your plan still shows Free, sign out and back in, then contact us with your account email and Stripe receipt if it remains unchanged. Do not send card details.

Email [email protected] for payment issues, cancellation or refund requests. You can cancel within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund, even if you used Premium. Your rights if the service is faulty or not supplied as promised remain unaffected. Send a clear cancellation statement with your account email; the optional model form and full purchase information are in the Terms. Refunds are handled by support, not a self-service button.

Friends and Watch Together

Search for friends by username and wait for them to accept your request. A Watch Together room needs at least one active Premium participant. The host can invite friends and end the room. If an invite or group pick fails, tell us the room name and what each person saw, without sharing private account credentials.

Data and account deletion

To request a copy, correction or deletion of your account data, email us from your account address with “Data request” in the subject. We will verify the request and explain any payment or legal records that must be retained. Read the Privacy notice for what REVEL stores and shares.

Media data attribution

Movie facts include Wikidata structured data under CC0. TV metadata, summaries and images include TVmaze data under CC BY-SA 4.0. REVEL normalises that metadata; the TVmaze-derived catalogue data remains available under the same licence via the paginated data export. Source links are retained on catalogue records. Wikimedia image references are stored separately and are not displayed until the individual file licence and credit can be verified. Optional cinema listings come from Open Cinema Project.

Streaming availability information is provided by Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night. Provider information is cached and can change; confirm availability with the streaming service.
